Use a prominent announcement for information customers should see without opening incident details.

When to use an announcement

  • Upcoming changes with customer impact.
  • Important information that is not an outage.
  • A prominent pointer to an incident or maintenance event.

Write the announcement

    Put the customer-visible change first.

    Add timing and action

    Include timezone and anything customers need to do.

    Remove it when stale

    Assign an owner to remove outdated messages.

Announcement or maintenance?

Use Maintenance for planned work with a defined window and history. Use an announcement for broader information or an extra visible notice.
