Monitor management
Check regions
Choose where Statixoup checks your monitor from and how many regions must agree before the monitor is marked down. The guide follows the same monitor workflow used in the dashboard, so you can create, pause, remove, and troubleshoot monitors with confidence.
What check regions do
Each check region is a separate monitoring location. Every region you select checks the URL on the monitor's interval and records its own status and response time, so you can tell a global outage from a problem that only affects one part of the world.
Use more than one region
Checking from two or more regions avoids false alarms caused by a network problem between a single region and your server.
Choose regions
- 1.
Open the monitor's Configuration
Open the monitor detail page, choose Configuration, then open Regions. You can also pick regions under Check from when you create a monitor.
Open Monitors - 2.
Select regions
Tick the regions that should check this URL. Nearest to you marks the suggested region; use Show all regions to see the full list.
- 3.
Check plan access
Regions marked with a plan name are available on that plan. Upgrade to use them.
- 4.
Save
Save the configuration. The new regions are used from the next check.
Decide when the monitor is down
Alert me when sets how many of the selected regions must report the service down before Statixoup marks the monitor down and opens an incident.
| Option | Monitor is down when | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Any region reports down | At least one region reports down. | Services where any failure matters and you accept occasional regional false alarms. |
| Half or more than half regions report down (recommended) | At least half of the regions that answered report down. | Most websites and APIs. It filters out single-region network problems. |
| All regions report down | Every region that answered reports down. | Alerting only on complete outages. |
Read region results
- The monitor detail page lists every selected region with its current status and latest response time.
- The response-time chart can show each region separately, which helps spot slow or failing locations.
- If the monitor checks from only one region, the monitor page shows Add regions, which opens the region settings.
