Alerts & integrations
Email alerts
Statixoup emails you automatically when a monitor goes down, recovers, returns an unexpected status code, or has an SSL certificate problem. There is nothing to connect: email alerts work from the moment you add your first monitor. You do not need to be a monitoring expert: this guide walks you through connecting the alert destination, confirming that it works, and knowing what to check if an alert does not arrive.
How email alerts work
Email alerts are sent to the registered email address of the account that owns the monitor. They are always on and are delivered alongside any Slack, Discord, WhatsApp, SMS, or voice call integrations you have connected.
Team members
Alert emails go to the monitor owner only. If teammates also need to be notified, connect a shared channel such as Slack or Discord.
When you receive an email
| Subject | When it is sent | |
|---|---|---|
| Incident detected | Incident is Detected: <url> | The monitor fails more consecutive checks than its failure threshold. |
| Incident resolved | Incident is Resolved: <url> | The service is back online and Recovery Notifications is enabled. |
| Monitor warning | ⚠️ Monitor Warning: <url> | The website responds but returns an unexpected status code. |
| Resolved with status code | Incident is Resolved with Status Code <code>: <url> | The website is back online but still returns a non-standard status code. |
| SSL expiring | SSL Certificate Expiring Soon for <url> | The certificate reaches your days-before-expiry setting, or is expired or invalid while Verify SSL Certificate is enabled. |
What each email includes
- The monitored hostname and its current state: down, warning, or resolved.
- The HTTP status code and response time.
- For downtime alerts, the last good response time and when it was recorded.
- The time the problem was detected, shown in your account timezone and time format.
- A 90-day uptime history bar with the overall uptime percentage.
- A link to open the incident in your dashboard.
- For warnings, a link to the documentation for the returned HTTP status code.
Control which emails you receive
- 1.
Set the failure threshold
In the monitor Configuration, set how many consecutive failed checks are required before an incident email is sent. The minimum is 2.
- 2.
Choose recovery behavior
Turn Recovery Notifications on to receive an email when the service is back online, or off to receive only incident emails.
- 3.
Configure SSL expiry emails
Enable Notify on expiration and set the days before expiry to alert. SSL expiry notifications are not available on the free plan.
- 4.
Pause during maintenance
Pause the monitor during planned maintenance so intentional downtime does not send alert emails.
Reduce noise without missing outages
Keep the failure threshold low for critical services and leave Recovery Notifications on so you know when an incident has cleared.
Not receiving alert emails?
- Check your spam or junk folder and mark Statixoup emails as not spam.
- Add the Statixoup sender address to your contacts or email allowlist.
- Confirm the email address shown in Profile is correct and verified.
- Make sure the monitor is active and not paused.
- Use Test Alert on the monitor detail page to confirm delivery before relying on it during an outage.
