Connect Twilio SMS alerts

Use Twilio SMS alerts when your team needs an outage notification by text message. Your Statixoup account starts with a 7-day free trial, giving you time to connect a phone number and confirm that alerts reach the right person before choosing a plan. You do not need to be a monitoring expert: this guide walks you through connecting the alert destination, confirming that it works, and knowing what to check if an alert does not arrive.

When SMS alerts help

Use Twilio SMS alerts when a responder needs a direct text message for incidents and recovery updates. SMS is useful for urgent services, small teams, or backup notification paths when chat tools may be muted or unavailable.

Use SMS selectively

Send SMS alerts to people who are expected to act quickly, and keep less urgent notifications in Slack, Discord, or WhatsApp.

Before you start

Keep the mobile phone that should receive SMS alerts nearby. The setup verifies the recipient number with a one-time code, so you do not enter a Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, or sender number in the Statixoup form.

  • Make sure your current plan has an available integration allowance.
  • Enter the recipient number using country code and digits only, for example 15551234567.
  • Use a phone that can receive SMS during setup.
  • During the 7-day trial, test alert delivery before relying on it for a live incident.

Connect the phone number

  1. 1.

    Open Twilio

From Integrations, select Configure on the Twilio card. If your plan has no available integration allowance, Statixoup shows an upgrade prompt.

  2. 2.

    Enter the recipient number

Enter 8 to 15 digits including the country code, then select Connect.

  3. 3.

    Verify the code

Enter the six-digit verification code sent to that phone, then select Verify. The code must be unused and unexpired.

  4. 4.

    Wait for confirmation

After verification succeeds, Statixoup saves the number as the active Twilio integration and refreshes the Integrations page.

Confirm alert delivery

Open the Twilio integration detail page, confirm the status is Active, and send a test alert. The detail page also shows alert history, lets you deactivate or reactivate delivery, and includes Change Phone Number for verifying a new SMS recipient.

Use the trial to test your workflow

Before the 7-day free trial ends, confirm the recipient number, alert settings, and escalation process so your team knows who receives a real outage alert.
