Configure confirmation and recovery notifications

Use failure threshold and recovery notifications to reduce false alerts and tell responders when a service is healthy again. The guide follows the same monitor workflow used in the dashboard, so you can create, pause, remove, and troubleshoot monitors with confidence.

Failure threshold

Failure threshold is the number of consecutive failed checks required before Statixoup creates a downtime incident and sends the alert. This confirmation step helps avoid alerts for brief network blips.

  • Failure threshold must be at least 2.
  • A lower threshold detects confirmed downtime sooner.
  • A higher threshold waits longer before alerting and can reduce noise for unstable endpoints.

Recovery notifications

Recovery Notifications sends a follow-up message after the service returns online. This helps responders know when the outage has cleared without keeping the dashboard open.

Configure alert behavior

  1. 1.

    Open Configuration

Open the monitor detail page and choose Configuration.

  2. 2.

    Open Alert Notifications

Find Failure threshold and Recovery Notifications.

  3. 3.

    Set the threshold

Enter the consecutive failure count required before alerting.

  4. 4.

    Choose recovery behavior

Turn Recovery Notifications on or off.

  5. 5.

    Save

Submit the configuration and confirm the success message.

Balance speed and confidence

Critical services usually need a low threshold and recovery notifications enabled. Noisy endpoints may need investigation before increasing the threshold.
